about the team

Casey Gardner Ford, CPP

It is a pleasure to meet you. I’m so excited you came to check out our work.

have been a photographer in Atlanta for over 10 years, focusing mostly in the entertainment space. Theatre, galas, actors, promotional photography. You name it, I’ve had the pleasure of figuring it out.

I am also an instructor at the Atlanta School of Photography. I find such joy and fulfillment in teaching my students of all ages everything from how to turn the dang thing on through taking them on oversees excursions to experience different parts of the world through their lens.

I have a degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design and am a Certified Professional Photographer with PPA. I am living that suburban dream with my husband Dan and our son Emmett. And our cat Otis of course.

I love talking all things photo and Atlanta theatre and minimalism and yoga and France. Basically I just love to gab!

I can hardly wait to work with you.

Brody Young

Brody is totally stoked to join Casey in taking photos for the Atlanta theatre community.

He graduated from Oglethorpe University with a degree in Film and Media Studies. You will find him taking production photos for now but he is really excited to start capturing video for theatre, events, and even headshot slate shots this fall.

Kate MacQueen

Kate is a professional actor, a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, a mum, a wife, a pretty good cook (Casey here; she is an EXCELLENT cook), and an all-around helpful person. Kate is primarily responsible for Breathe’s admin and finances.

Emma Jean Scott

Emma Jean Scott is a recent graduate of Oglethorpe University, where she studied Theatre and Film. She fills her time bouncing between Marketing Coordination at Actor’s Express, Administrative Management at the Suzi Bass Awards, and now Social Media Management for Breathe Images! In her free time, she enjoys binging TV-shows, creating short films, and cooking recklessly without a recipe. For more about her acting, directing, and community building, check out emmajeanscott.com!

what is the deal with this “breathe” thing?

okay, some of you may be wondering

“Why is your company name Breathe Images?”

“Why does your website scream BREATHE at me at the top of the home page you psycho?”

So let me give you a tiny bit of the lore. When I first started taking photos in Atlanta (with a squarespace site even back then), my website had a landing page that was mostly white, with this simple little message, “breathe. we have found each other. let’s get to work.”

Do you know how many people have told me they loved that landing page (and miss it)?! In an era of constantly being bombarded with messages and images, my clients liked being reminded to take a breath. Life in the fast lane of entertainment can be overwhelming and that doesn’t lead to good pictures of you at your best. So I strive to make my clients feel amazing so they look amazing and that starts with being calm. Headshots are intimidating enough as it is. I’m not about to add to that stress.

I’m also an active yogi and meditator. I LOVE bringing that peace to others in the studio or at an event. The world doesn’t need more drama. I leave that to the professionals. Our job at Breathe Images is to capture the life you live in its best possible light. You are already living it; but only if you remember to breathe.

So when it came time to name the dang thing, I didn’t want the company attached to my name. I want it to eventually live on with other photographers who strive to create the same kind of natural and happy images we work toward. So I picked a name that I always wanted associated with the company. Because if we don’t breathe we have nothing. So let’s always remember to start there.

let’s connect

I’m so glad you like what you see. There is more where that came from!
