hello brody
hey brody
This is a long time coming and we are thrilled to welcome Brody to the Breathe Images team.
This is a big step for me as a creative business owner/hustler. Breathe Images’ style has been built on my perspective and shooting style. I’ve been unreasonably lucky to have my time and perspective favored in the Atlanta community. So much so that I can’t physically do all the shoots that people ask me to come do.
SO, another me is necessary. But also impossible.
But I’ve got something even better. A very talented photographer that is willing to put up with my neurosis as I learn how to let go of control for the betterment of our clients.
Brody has lots of cool things in the works but his primary for us will be another event/production photographer.
I’ll let you get to know him but just know that I’m super excited to have him join us.
Hope he can hang with the ladies.
Where are you from?
I grew up in Greer, South Carolina. It is about 30 mins outside Greenville.
What was baby Brody like?
Pretty much the coolest person you’ve ever met and the biggest fan of dinosaurs. I was a big nerd who grew up liking comics and card games then sliding into playing sports like football and wrestling. I’ve always liked film and photography and made short films and worked for sports doing highlights and portraits.
What is your role with the Breathe Images team?
2nd shooter and Casey wrangler. As an additional photographer I hope to bring my own energy and flavor to Breathe Images. I can’t wait to meet all new people and see more theatre and events.
How did you join them?
Casey saw me taking photos and was like “hey kid, need a job?!”
What is your day to day life like?
In addition to my photography work, I also help build sets around the Atlanta area for various theatre companies like Synchronicity and Actors Express. I have a really great time doing work with my hands and having a creative outlet in doing that is extremely rewarding. I also like to write and make my own short films which I shoot, edit and direct myself.
What is your little sweet treat?
Apples and peanut butter.
Everyone is an artist on the team! What is your favorite thing about your creative process?
I think every part of the creative process has its own positives and negatives. I do think my favorite part when it comes to my work is editing, because it is only making things better. Turning maybe a not so great shot into a great shot or a great shot into an amazing one-of-a-kind photo into something unbelievable.
What is on your to do list? Need to clean your bathroom? Have to find a new toothbrush?
I need to clean my room. I have amassed a lot of camera gear and struggle to find good places for all of it in my tiny apartment. I also need to cook my food for the week as I am trying to do better meal prepping and eating healthier.
What movie are you picking on an airplane?
Airplane, duh.
