hello emma jean
A viral filmmaker, crazy talented singer, style icon, crazy Adobe wizard.
She is not definable except in her kindness.
No matter what I ask her to do, no matter how crazy an idea I pitch her, she comes back to me with kindness.
I’m so excited to have Breathe Images benefit from her overflowing creativity.
If we look cool online it is entirely because of her.
Where are you from?
I am originally from Worthington, Ohio, but when I was 11, my family moved to Clayton, Georgia- so take your pick! A half-half northern, southern gal who somehow has both accents.
What was baby Emma Jean like?
Curious, for sure. I loved going to the zoo and science museum with my grandparents, playing Just Dance on the Wii with my sister (she always won, to “Who Let the Dogs Out,” btw), or obsessively reading YA novels. I was very opinionated and always itching for a chance to perform; luckily, I haven’t lost either of those traits yet. If you’re imagining the loud, oldest girl cousin trying to organize a cousin-wide performance to earn a sleepover…you’ve got the picture.
What is your role with the Breathe Images team?
I am our Social Media/Marketing Manager! My job is pretty much the most fun; I’m a die-hard theatre kid, so getting to see a free show while Casey and Brody shoot, then make stupid puns about it in captions…it’s really the dream.
How did you join them?
I started, and still continue, my marketing journey over at Actor’s Express, where I had the pleasure of hanging with Casey further than being photographed by her! I like to think we got along pretty well, so when she emailed me about a job opening, I LEPT at the opportunity. Lucky me, I got the job!
What is your day-to-day life like?
I’m the type of gal to keep her plate overflowing, so every day is a little different! If I’m not working with Casey, I’m working over at Actor’s Express, then I come home to film auditions, do freelance casting for local short films, and organize community events for Atlanta artists! I like to dip my toe into as many pools as I can, because the best artists are the most versatile. If you’re in need of like…anything…hit me up! I love to collaborate to create art <3 (emmajeanscott.com)
What is your little sweet treat?
Okay, so obviously it depends on a lot of things, but mostly time of day, so here’s the vibes:
Mornings -> Iced Caramel Latte
Afternoons -> Strawberry Shortcake Cup from Whole Foods
Evenings -> Tres Leches Cake
Everyone is an artist on the team! What is your favorite thing about your creative process?
The first “sprint” you do when you really latch onto an idea. When you feel like you could write for hours and crank out days' worth of work (sometimes a shitty version, but that’s for future you to deal with) in a single night. It’s rare, but that’s when I know a project is really going to stick with me.
What is on your to-do list? Need to clean your bathroom? Have to find a new toothbrush?
Girl, this blog would be so long if I listed it all- top of my list? Hmmm….
Laundry. It’s always laundry. If I could ethically source a robot to automate one task for me forever, it would be laundry…or dishes…yuck :/
What movie are you picking on an airplane?
My go-to is always a movie that I’ve been wanting to watch, but have been putting off for no reason. I’m strapped in a metal tube flying through the air, so what better time to catch up? (my credentials: letterboxd.com/emmajeanscott/)
